Functional Tool Holder Series: Polygonal Boring Tool Holder, Revolutionizing Non-Standard Hole Machining Methods
The polygonal boring tool holder belongs to the functional tool holder series of Bai Jiang and is another highlight of this exhibition. This tool holder operates by rotating the machine tool spindle to drive the “trajectory ring” inside the tool holder, enabling the tool to perform controlled cyclic movements along a predefined trajectory, including hexagonal, square, and D-shaped holes. Since it can directly bore non-standard holes on machining centers and milling machines, it effectively reduces costs and quality issues caused by process transfers and secondary clamping.
Since the tool holder can perform boring along a predetermined trajectory, the processing time for irregular holes is significantly reduced. For example, in the new energy vehicle industry, hexagonal rivet holes can be bored in approximately 1 second, with guaranteed processing accuracy, root radius, and surface quality.
The boring tool holder can process various irregular holes by modifying the trajectory ring. Therefore, in addition to internal hexagonal rivet holes, it can also be used for complex parts such as engine housings and transmission cases in the automotive manufacturing industry, as well as precision parts like aircraft structural components and engines in the aerospace industry.
