New Energy Rivet Holes
Polygonal Boring Tool Holder
Material: Aluminum
Process: Processing hexagonal rivet holes
Hexagonal rivet holes, renowned for their excellent connection stability and reliability, are widely applied in the new energy vehicle manufacturing sector. From the new energy battery packs that store core energy to critical structural components such as trays, crash beams, and sill beams that support the vehicle body, the processing quality of hexagonal rivet holes directly impacts the safety, durability, and overall performance of new energy vehicles.
Traditional processing challenges: Traditional processing of hexagonal rivet holes primarily relies on manual rivet guns and milling cutters. The former is highly dependent on the operator's skill level, resulting in rough edges and inconsistent quality; the latter takes a long time to process, with tool radius always remaining on the edges.
Bai Jiang Processing Solution:The polygonal boring tool holder can directly bore hexagonal holes on machining centers and milling machines, facilitating process consolidation and reducing process turnover. During processing, the tool holder follows a predetermined trajectory for boring, achieving hexagonal hole processing in approximately 2 seconds. The root radius can be as small as 0.2 mm. The “direction adjustment ring” on the tool holder can also adjust the size and phase of the pattern.
The tool holder's internal hexagon rivet holes are standardly equipped with polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tools. Their ultra-hard properties effectively reduce burr generation in aluminum alloy materials, with tool life increased by 5-8 times compared to carbide tools, ensuring continuous and stable operation of automated production lines.
